Views were carefully oriented to establish the Independence Pass House near Aspen with a commanding vista of 12,000 foot peaks. The house gently steps down on its rural, wooded site, following the natural contours. Each part is positioned to fit the sub-alpine topography and give the house a sense of belonging to the shaded aspen grove surrounding it.
